Las Cruces pet owners reminded to license pets

LAS CRUCES - Pet owners residing within Las Cruces city limits are reminded that their pets must be registered and issued a license. All licenses are issued through the Animal Service Center of the Mesilla Valley, 3551 Bataan Memorial West or through PetData.com.
Proof of the pet’s current rabies vaccination, proof of microchip and proof of sterilization (if applicable) are required. License renewals may be conducted in person at the ASCMV, online at PetData.com or through the mail as appropriate, according to a news release from the city of Las Cruces.
Pet licensing fees for personal pets residing in the city of Las Cruces are:
  • Altered (spayed/neutered): $7 per year.
  • Unaltered (not spayed/neutered): $50 per year.
  • Senior citizen with altered pet(s): $5 per year. Seniors must provide proof with valid photo ID.
ASCMV hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For information, call the ASCMV at 575-382- 0018.
