US election 2016: Hillary Clinton 'to win Georgia and Virginia'
Her rival, Bernie Sanders, has clinched his home state of Vermont, as the first "Super Tuesday" results come in.
For the Republicans, front-runner Donald Trump won Georgia but Vermont and Virginia are too close to call.
The New York billionaire is expected to win most of the 11 states voting on Super Tuesday.
It is the biggest single day for both parties to select their party nominees ahead of the 8 November presidential election.
Early exit polls show Mr Trump and Ohio Governor John Kasich leading the Republican field in Vermont. Meanwhile, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump are neck and neck in Virginia.
Results from the remaining eight states are expected in the coming hours.
Voters have been casting their ballots across the country, from Massachusetts and Virginia on the east coast to Texas and all the way to Alaska.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and real estate mogul Donald Trump entered Super Tuesday as the favourites to win the vast majority of states for their respective parties.
Mr Trump has stunned the Republican establishment to become the party's front-runner. Despite his controversial policies on immigration, the former reality TV star has been consistently polling well above his rivals - Ted Cruz, Mr Rubio, Mr Kasich and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.
On the Democratic side, Mrs Clinton had already secured three wins in the first four early-voting states and has led significantly among blocs of black voters there.
Bernie Sanders is hoping to win in four other states on Tuesday - Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Colorado. http://www.bbc.com/
